if you are limiting your physical activity , why not look for an alternative activity that will keep you occupied while you  resolve this problem, I would imagine swimming might be good for this as it involves no hard pressure on the feet though the ankle and feet do get used or am I wrong?

If you allow depression to take hold you will really have a problem as that is harder to treat than physical ailments!

I've been suffering with PF for a year, am currently on my 3rd podiatrist, have tried orthotics, physical therapy, stretching, ice, cortizone injections (painful!!), and anti-inflammatory drugs and am now five weeks into wearing and sleeping with a "boot" for five weks without much improvement. As a consequence, I'm now seriously depressed and anxious due to such an extended period of time of limited physical activity and a sense of hopelessness about ever having my old physically active life back again. Everyone and his brother seems to have the "cure," but no one-including the podiatrists- seems to be able to help. Frustrated with traditional medicine and their complete disregard for the emotional aspects of chronic conditions, I've sought alternative care. Currently trying acupuncture. After 3 treatments there seems to be some short-term improvement so I'm continuing to try that modality. Any thoughts out there? I'm desperate for help.
