I have a planter fasciitis boot that is old and is coming apart at the front.

Hi,  I have been wearing an old boot and I actually have two issues that I need some ideas from others.  One the boot is 13 years old and the bottom of the boot is coming apart from the soul that I walk on.  Does anyone know any glue that will fix that?  Also I find that the boot is very hard on my foot.  Is there anyway to make is softer?  I have padded it and use Epson salts.  Along with exercises for that area.  Any help would be wonderful.  I hope that I can be of service to one of you.See More

Last summer I found a new podiatrist who had me spend 8 weeks in a hard (fiberglass) cast, tip of my toes to just below my knee, the whole time non weight bearing on crutches. A new cast was applied every 2 weeks with more dorsiflexion of my foot maintained by each new cast. I was not too enthusiastic about the treatment after spending the previous summer in the d@mned boot but at my wit's end. But it worked! For the last 12 months I have been relatively pain free and have even resumed running!

Good luck and please keep in touch!

Pam-
If you are referring to a "walking cast" boot (my podiatrist called it a camwalker) I have seen them on line for under $100, about 1/3 of what my doctor charged my insurance! I even ran across one once at a Goodwill Store that looked to be new for $5!
I spent 8 weeks in mine 2 years ago and any relief I got was only temporary. I'm sure the $100 ones and even the $5 one are no better. Have you had any help from wearing yours?
