"Yes, it may take up to 6 weeks to heal, give or take.  Healing depends on you.  Everyone is different.  Whether or not you will be able to return to work is dependent upon many things...what do you do for a living, how bad is your…"

"Hi. Yes, healing nicely.  I still have a scab and it's tender, but I was told by my doctor's office that it's normal for where I am in the healing process. Thanks for your comment. L"

First Day Back at Work

First day back at work.  I've got my walking boot on, using one crutch for short distances.  I'm exhausted, my foot feels a little swollen.

8 Days Post Op

Weaning off the pain meds, nearly completely.  I'm taking one at night because by the end of the day my foot is quite sore and swollen.  If I don't take one at night, I wake up in the middle of the night with a terrible ache and can't get back to sleep.

I spend the majority of my days sitting with my foot elevated.  I only get up to go to the bathroom, get something to eat, shower, change clothes, etc.

It's hard to sit still when there is so much that needs to be done around…

At last - a little hope

Today is the first day I've felt hopeful in a loooong time.  I can hardly wait to get back to my regular activities.  I know that healing is just as important as having the procedure and I need not to rush things, but I'm anxious to get back to the gym.  I'm already picturing spinning, step and kick boxing!!  I know, I know, first I have to walk, then get back to my favorite activities.  It's just hard to contain my excitement.  I haven't felt positive in such a long time.

PF Release Surgery 7/8

Hi.

I had my Plantar Fasciits Release Surgery yesterday, 7/8.

After the surgeon re-examined me in the morning he decided he did not have to cut into my calf muscle.  I'm thankful for that.  He released the fascia and severed the nerve.  I'm not having any pain thanks to the pain medication, just sleeping a heck of alot and feeling "foggy", which I don't like.

I'm finding that using crutches is tiring, even just to go to the bathroom.  I'm to be completely non-weight…
