numbness

I have pf pretty bad for a 2nd time. The only thing is with this episode I have noticed that my little toe started to get numb.  Now the numbness extends from my little toe all the way down the outside/bottom of my foot but the heel pain is more toward the front inner side of my heel.  Has anyone else experienced this.  Could the numbness be from the swelling pressing on a nerve, or should I be concerned about it being something more serious?
