Plantar Fasciitis

The Plantar Fasciitis Community Will Help

I have tried so many options for pain relief.....2 cortisone injections, orthotic inserts, night splint and RSWT.  My podiatrist has now suggested that I try a walking cast (removable for showers) for 4 weeks...a last resort before the option of surgery.  Has anyone tried using the cast for pain relief and healing?  I am willing to give it a try, but was wondering if there are success stories for this treatment.

I tried just not using the foot, using crutches, not weight bearing on my own at home. Did it for about 6 weeks. Some improvement. I think I re-injured the fascia when I began to use it again.

So: Caution: Reintroduce activity very slowly and mindfully. Foot may take several months to fully recover.

And stretch, stretch, stretch (carefully) the foot, leg and toes often to help prevent re-injury as well. My fascia tightened up a lot in a boot, and I re-injured it.

I did that too...had surgery anyway because the pain did not go away...buy my podiatrist said that it worked for a lot of her patients.  I am about seven weeks post-op and happy with the surgery other that my calf muscle has popped twice already delaying my recovery.  They did a calf release for me as well.
