I've performed needling of the Plantar fascia for 2 of my patients with only temporary relief, I had to perform a plantar fascia releases on each to obtain lasting relief.

Hi Amy,

I went through a four week series of dry needling for my PF, starting at hip all working toward the heel.   The progress was good, it really took the edge off and I starting having more good days then bad.  That practioner  moved on and I was left to more of a conventional PT guy that helped with the muscle/strength/flexiability deal, we have got close to killing it but suspect more needling would have done it...

Your oh so right , that did hurt! but we did kinda work up to it...

I am looking for a new guy that can give it a go again...  it just may have worked if I had kept going...

Amy, I got PF after running a half marathon 1 1/2 yrs ago. At my yr mark, and 2 months after having a baby I had dry needling done. I wish I had waited. My insurance was going to end, and studies showed 95% success in just a few wks, so I went for it. It did not work, it's worse now.  My Doc. had me wear a boot for a week after. I did not stretch it during that week with the boot on, and I think it was really tight along with my calves, and I may have re-injured it right afterwards. My advise, let it rest to heal, but stretch it often and keep the length and flexibility. I hope it works for you, let me know :). I'm still working on mine.
