I struggled for years with foot pain. I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, and then later with "tarsal tunnel" ==nerve damage. Also, "peripheral neuropathy." I could hardly walk, and I felt like I had aged 20 years. Constant pain, wheel chairs, extremely desperate. Neurontin, blood platelet injections, night splints, 3 pairs of orthodics, Olympic level sports medicine, taping, stretching, ice, physical therapy, chinese medicine, accupuncture, chiropractic, herbs, diet. I had at least 8 doctors ready to do surgery. Either plantar slice, or nerve release.
I tried Dr. Sarno's approach, and year and a few months later, I feel no discomfort when I walk. I took up running. I can hike with a backpack all day. He understands something none of the 14 doctors or so that I went to, do about pain.
Search Dr. Sarno on this forum for at least one other person who had great success. Surgery is the greatist placebo affect of any treatment. I am so glad I did not do it.
Here is a link to success stories. There aren't many feet stories there but find Andy B. That's me. http://www.tmswiki.org/forum/forums/success-stories-subforum.27/
